Experimenting.
A very small hook and some fine cotton.
It's possible I may go blind in the process, but I'm hoping to have some passable button loops before too long! No matter what, it will be easier than button holes.

I warn you ... you will go blind. I can last about 20 minutes with a hook that size.

Oh so delicate Anna. Maybe it is experimenting that needs to be done outside in natural light, with a cup of tea on hand.... and maybe a piece of cake.
