My creative space

Apparently, when you have 7 weeks to go before a baby is supposed to be born, the most important thing to do is to make baby shoes. Far more important than going through baby clothes to check if you need anything else, and exceedingly more important than sweeping the kitchen floor.

I'm not sure I can explain the logic behind it (if indeed there is any), but the need is pressing. Insistent, even.

This pair in purple and orange.*

One down, one to go.

Anyone got any good, super-fast baby hat patterns? (Pressing need #2, just slightly less desperate than shoes. Apparently.)

Check out Kirsty's place to visit a whole load of creative places!

*I had a giggle to myself when I read the first paragraph of Cath's recent thought provoking post on crafty inspiration. Purple and orange, huh? I'd started these before I read that, but who knows where the original inspiration came from!?!

By the way, I am sure sure sure you would need to add a pebble vest such as mine to your knitting list to get done in the next 4-7 weeks!

Aaaagh

of course the need is pressing! you can not possibly have enough baby shoes. the kitchen floor can take of itself!!

My go to hat recipe is going to have to go up as a Rav pattern I think. Will give you a link in a couple of hours :-)

Hey, warm feet are vital!

Warm feet are very important, closely followed by warm head! I recently bought "Baby Beanies", by Amanda Keeys (after falling in love with the copy I borrowed from the local library. The first beanie project was super easy (as were most of the other projects) pretty much all done on a circular needle, only swapping to double pointed needles at the very end - certainly my type of project!

I was totally that way before Owen got here. I couldn't explain it but I had to knit for him. I kept telling myself that he was coming at the beginning of summer and he wouldn't need woolies. But we had the coldest wettest summer to start so it worked out! There's a really cute pixie hat pattern on ravelry. Sorry I don't have the link, but it's free!
