This little muddle is my current portable project, carried about (but not often pulled out) in a drawstring bag made by me (!) from an op shop pillowcase :-)
This is take 2 - the first attempt grew an extra stitch somehow so got frogged. This is another one of those 'learn as you go' projects - so far I've discovered provisional cast on, attempted knitting in the round for the first time, and JOINED a round! I've been very reliant on Ravelry so far!
This is also a very good project to get immersed in while avoiding the bag ;-)

Oh wow... You are so brave! I see those knitting in the round needles and I go all cold with fear!! It looks so hard! Good luck :) K
Learn as you go...the most fun methinks.
It's a lovely little colourful space! And I swear I can see the word sew in the wool (the blue is the s)
Well you've made it to Take 2 so well done! That bag is cute and while it may temporarily distract you, "that bag" wont go away!
Clever you. This in another knitting league to me... Perhaps next winter I'll try and extend myself beyond my standard scarf knitting!
what a great, colourful shot.
( if i had a penny for every time i "invented" a new stich! )
I'm fairly sure I'd be suffering a crafty withdrawal if it weren't for portable projects. Am somewhat addicted to knitting in the circular myself...
Oh ravelry it's so good yet so bad haha...I have spent sooo much time drooling over every one else's work...Congrats on working in the round and joining..I have attempted a few times and just can't quite get it....One step ahead of me :P
